Composite Bonding
What Is It?
‘Composite bonding’ is a dental cosmetic treatment which has gained popularity in recent years for its conservative mode of treatment Composite bonding is an ‘additive’ treatment option, meaning minimal/no drilling of the teeth is carried out. Composite is a tooth-coloured resin material which is applied directly on to the tooth surface to improve its shape, shade and appearance. It is also used to build up teeth which have worn down due to acid erosion or tooth grinding. It is a medium-term treatment solution, meaning that these restorations last on average between 3 and 5 years. Minor chipping and staining may occur during this time frame, hence a degree of maintenance must be accepted. The restorations needed to be treated with care and potential sources of staining should be limited.
Who Is Suitable For This Treatment?
Composite bonding is particularly popular with younger patients, however all ages are suitable for this treatment. The most important criteria is a good level of oral hygiene with no active gum disease. Well maintained oral health, including a low decay rate and good diet are also important factors. Some patients may not initially be suitable for the treatment but our hygienists and dentists are here to help improve your oral health and suitability for cosmetic dental treatment. This ideology forms the basis behind our ethical approach to patient care.

Positive: Patient, Caring
Having come to Dr Hussain after a very bad experience elsewhere, I was very nervous at the beginning. I was recommended by a friend, who has been going to him for years, and that was the initial reason for choosing Dr Hussain. Having been there now for just over a year, I would not consider going anywhere else. He is very patient, caring and thorough in even the most complex case. A huge thank you.
