At Alpha House Dental Practice we cater for private patients of all ages and welcome children from an early age.

Oral health is our number one priority and we encourage parents to bring their children for regular check-ups from the age of 12 months. This helps children get used to the environment of a dental practice and means we can ensure they have strong and healthy teeth and gums.

We are aware that visiting the dentist can be daunting for children, which is why we do all we can to make the experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Dental check-ups for children

Like adults, regular dental check-ups are important for children and we recommend they attend the practice every 6 months. These appointments only last 10-15 minutes but can give us the chance to check everything is okay and make sure your child's teeth are developing properly. We also look for early warning signs of cavities and other dental health problems, so that we can provide treatment in good time.

At Alpha House we actively promote preventative treatments and offer sealants and fluoride varnish to strengthen teeth and prevent decay. These treatments, which are usually carried out by our hygienists, are simple, quick and painless, and can also make a huge difference to your child's oral health.

We also hold Oral health education clinics, carried out by our accredited Oral Health Educators. Oral health education is a great tool for everyone, especially children. Learning how to take care of our mouths between dental visits is the best possible way of preventing problems and avoiding treatment.

We are also available to talk about oral hygiene and diet and will happily answer any questions you may have.
