Dental Bridges
A dental bridge can be used to replacing missing teeth. It is made using a replacement tooth that is fused to crowns or bonded to healthy teeth on either side of the gap. creating a seamless and natural looking smile.
Bridges can be made from various materials, including precious metals and ceramics. Many people prefer to have ceramic bridges as they blend in with the colour of natural teeth with a better cosmetic end result.
Why is it important to replace missing teeth?
Replacing missing teeth significantly improves the both the function the mouth and the aesthetics of your smile. A missing tooth automatically puts a greater strain on the teeth either side of it which may cause them to become loose and make eating and speaking more difficult. Your bite might also be affected altering the way your teeth meet.
Types of dental bridge
There are different types of dental bridges and the one you choose will usually be based on the location of the missing tooth and the health of remaining teeth. The most commonly used type of bridge is a traditional 'fixed' bridge that can be used if there are healthy, strong teeth on both sides of the tooth gap.
If you lose a front tooth a 'Maryland' or 'resin-bonded' bridge may be the best option, while a 'cantilever' bridge will probably be recommended if you have healthy teeth on a single side of the gap. We will discuss all the options with you during your consultation and help you choose the right option for your individual needs.

Before I came here I hadn't been to a dentist for nearly 30 years. It was only when my gums became sore and I kept having dreams that my teeth were about to fall out, that I finally decided I really needed to do something.
Mr Hussain completed a thorough examination, in which he took the time to really listen to me, without being at all judgemental. The treatment and recommendations that he made have completely changed how I feel about my teeth, and I am truly grateful to him and his team. If anyone is looking for a new dentist, where you are really treated as an individual, and will receive excellent care and treatment, I would certainly recommend this surgery.
